In Their Words

What called you to lead this retreat and what are you most excited to share with this group?
As someone who loves to travel and deeply immerse myself in culture when I visit places, leading this retreat felt like a natural opportunity to bridge my passions for teaching, yoga, and learning more about the world. I've never been to Costa Rica before, and I am so excited to have the privilege to experience the beauty of Nosara. Having attended a Dose retreat before, I returned home with a deeper appreciation for my practice and also new connections with my fellow yogis, and I hope to help foster a similar experience for this group.

What do you hope students feel or take home with them after this experience?
I hope students return with a renewed connection with their self and practice. The ability to step out of your normal routine and dedicate time to slow down, be present, and immerse yourself in a new culture and way of life is so special. I hope each student spends time in reflection, maybe while watching the sunset over the ocean or immersed in the lush nature, and is able to find connection with one's self, others, and the beauty surrounding us.

Outside of yoga, what lights you up or inspires you right now?
Right now, I've been filling my cup with slow days filled with movement (I love solidcore and strength training), tasty food (especially a sweet treat), and loved ones. After a tough year of constant change, it's been the simple things that have been grounding me.

How would you describe your teaching style or energy in three words?
I love teaching dynamic, intentional, and embodied sequences that help to build strength and a deep mind-body connection. In class, I want to encourage others to foster a sense of trust with their bodies and root their practice in it to explore the asanas. I believe this trust and curiosity allows for expansion of the practice outside of the physical shapes and off of the mat, helping to quiet the busy mind and connect a bit deeper to the self.
