Yoga Teacher Training FAQ: Everything You Want to Know (But Haven’t Asked Yet)

You’ve been thinking about it. Maybe for months.

Maybe it’s a whisper that returns every time you step onto your mat:

“What if I went deeper?”

Whether you want to teach or just crave a more connected practice, the Dose Yoga Teacher Training was created to help you grow—in body, mind, and soul.

Here are the most frequently asked questions (and honest answers) to help you decide if this journey is right for you.

Do I need to be advanced at yoga to join?

Not at all. We welcome students of all levels—what matters most is your curiosity, openness, and willingness to learn. You don’t need to nail handstands or know Sanskrit. You just need a foundation of consistent practice and a heart that’s ready to explore.

What if I don’t want to be a teacher?

You’re not alone! Many people take yoga teacher training to deepen their own practice—not necessarily to teach. You’ll still gain an incredible toolbox of breathwork, movement, mindfulness, and philosophy that will serve you in every part of your life.

If you do decide to teach down the road, you’ll be fully equipped to do so.

Who teaches the training?

We’ve gathered some of Dose’s most passionate and experienced teachers to guide you:

  1. Lipsa Shah Liddy – Lead teacher and head of training

  2. Alexandria Woods – Anatomy educator who brings the body to life

  3. Karley St. Pierre – Leads Friday night chakra circles

  4. Caitlin Obermeyer – Sequencing and teaching technique alongside Lipsa

  5. Guest educators – Other Dose instructors and wellness experts who offer specialty sessions throughout the training

You’ll get a well-rounded education and mentorship from a dream team of humans who truly care about your growth.

What’s the weekly schedule like?

Dose teacher training meets on select weekends, making it accessible for people with full-time jobs, families, or full lives. Each weekend is structured as follows:

  1. Fridays: Chakra Night + Satsang – Sharing circles, reflection, and chakra exploration

  2. Saturdays + Sundays: Full days of movement, sequencing, anatomy, philosophy, practice teaching, and journaling

You’ll have time between weekends to absorb, reflect, and integrate.

Will I be certified to teach?

Yes! Upon successful completion of the program and completing all required hours, you’ll receive your 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification, which allows you to teach at studios, online, retreats, and beyond.

You’ll also have the opportunity to audition to teach at Dose, and many of our grads go on to lead public classes, privates, and even retreats.

What’s included in the tuition?

Tuition covers:

  1. All weekend training sessions

  2. A full training manual

  3. Weekly mentorship and feedback

  4. Guest educator sessions

  5. All classes required for training

  6. A supportive community you’ll stay connected with long after graduation

There is additional costs for required reading (books you’ll love), but we keep everything as accessible as possible.

Is there a payment plan?

Absolutely. We believe yoga teacher training should be financially accessible, so we offer flexible payment plans. We’ll work with you to find something that fits your budget.

How many people are in each training?

Our cohorts are intentionally small and intimate, usually around 15–20 students. This allows for personal mentorship, a tight-knit community, and the kind of safe space where true transformation can unfold.

What previous students are saying:
”I truly appreciated and enjoyed DOSE YTT  with my personal favorite being Friday Chakra nights -- those nights became like weekly "family" therapy!  The teachers are all very welcoming and dedicated to creating instructional classes fun and insightful.  It was challenging with respect to learning so much with regards to Anatomy, Sequencing, etc. and the additional observations and teaching classes, but the eight weeks flew by.  We, our training group, shared quickly after it ended how much we missed it all.  I value everything I learned, and the experiences and engagement with fellow students and instructors are enabling me to evolve into a true YOGI in all areas of and practice. - Tammy Chance

”Teacher training was a wonderful experience.  I was able to deepen my practice, and find some great friends in the area!  The content broadly hits many different areas of the practice and balances academic portions well with practical activities. This is a great program for both those wanting to advance their own practice and those looking to teach professionally.” - Tucker Hawkinson

”I've been practicing yoga for almost four years now. I've always loved doing yoga and felt a calling to teach for a while. When the timing worked out, I'm so glad I made the decision to sign up for teacher training with Dose, because it changed my life. This training helped me deepen my practice, find a community of people and find the confidence I didn't know I had inside of me. My favorite part was learning the different chakra systems and learning how to mindfully create a yoga flow that challenges you. I'm so lucky to have the community I have at Dose Yoga & Smoothie Bar.” - Daniel Falk

How do I apply or sign up?

If your heart is saying yes (or even maybe), we encourage you to reach out. We’re happy to answer questions, hop on a call, or guide you through the process.

Still unsure? That’s okay.

Sometimes the things that change us most are the ones we almost didn’t say yes to.
